Vitto Hoan My Contributes to Laying the Foundation for Vietnam’s Ceramic Tile Industry

With over 20 years of establishment and development, VTHM Group (Vitto Hoàn Mỹ) has once again affirmed its pioneering position in the construction materials industry by receiving the Vietnam National Brand certification for its premium Vitto ceramic tiles for the second consecutive time. This recognition is a testament to the enterprise’s credibility, product quality, and its pivotal role in shaping Vietnam’s ceramic tile industry.
VTHM Group Receives Vietnam National Brand Certification for Vitto Ceramic Tiles for the Second Consecutive Time.
A Pioneer Since the Early Days
Since the first ceramic tiles were produced in Vietnam in 1993, the country’s tile manufacturing industry has experienced rapid growth. By the late 1990s and into the 2000s, the ceramic tile market began to thrive as demand for construction and real estate surged.
At that time, only a handful of factories—evolving from small clay material workshops with primitive equipment—were in operation. The founders of what is now VTHM Group nurtured a bold ambition: to build large-scale factories and production centers equipped with more advanced machinery and modern production lines, helping to drive the development of Vietnam’s ceramic tile industry.
VTHM’s early factories were equipped with modern production lines. These facilities were gradually built in Vinh Phuc Province, with a production capacity of 2 million square meters of tiles per year. This laid the groundwork for what later became one of Vietnam’s key tile manufacturing hubs.
Among these was the Hoan My tile factory, known for its premium Perfetto brand, which has been a prominent name in the market for over two decades.
In 2013, the Vitto tile factory was inaugurated. Though it launched during a challenging period for the construction industry (2012–2013), when real estate activity was frozen and demand fell by 30–40%, Vitto achieved rapid growth thanks to its innovative and pioneering strategies. It quickly made a mark as a brand that led new design trends in the tile industry.
Not stopping in the North, VTHM also pioneered expansion into Central Vietnam, an area still lacking in tile manufacturing due to raw material scarcity. Two factories were established in Phu Loc, Hue, producing ceramic tiles and supporting materials, creating a crucial bridge to extend the distribution and supply chain across the South.
Alongside the industry’s overall development and thanks to its production capacity and technological expertise, Vietnam has become the world’s fourth-largest producer of ceramic tiles. With heavy investment in technology and production lines, VTHM Group’s factories now boast an annual production capacity of 54 million square meters, with distribution points in all 63 provinces across the country and exports to 28 countries and territories worldwide.
A National Brand Leading the Trends
Amid fierce competition on the home turf—with the entry of tile brands from India, China, and others, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by foreign building material enterprises—domestic brands must assert their credibility and quality to survive, grow, and elevate the status of Vietnamese brands.
As a long-standing enterprise with a solid market presence, VTHM Group has not only focused on its own goals but also committed to driving the broader development of the industry and enhancing Vietnam’s brand value on the global stage.
VTHM’s factory capacities rank among the industry's top, with products meeting international standards such as:
-
ISO 13006
-
TIS 2508 (Thailand)
-
SIRIM MS ISO 13006 (Malaysia)
-
PNS 13006 (Philippines)
-
EN 14411 (Europe)
This enables VTHM to compete in demanding markets like the U.S., UK, France, South Korea, and Thailand, standing shoulder to shoulder with many international brands.
Beyond leading in technology and modern production equipment, sustainable development is a long-term strategic direction for the Group. This guiding principle is embodied in specific actions such as:
-
Applying green production technologies
-
Increasing the use of alternative fuels such as cashew shells and compressed wood pellets instead of fossil fuels
-
Minimizing waste and protecting the environment
We continuously research and improve our production processes, increase the use of renewable materials with the goal of sustainable development, ensuring a balance between growth and environmental protection, contributing to brand value and reinforcing the prestige of Vietnam’s national brand,” shared the General Director of VTHM Group at the Vietnam National Brand Award Ceremony held on November 4 in Hanoi.
With the growing trend toward green materials, VTHM believes now is the right time for manufacturers to restructure their product lines toward sustainability and eco-friendliness.
